In the July 2003 issue of Vanity Fair, she was listed as one of the year's most popular teen stars. In 2004, Vega had completed two movies: Sleepover and State's Evidence. In 2005 she appeared in the Lifetime TV movie Odd Girl Out, as the victim of cyberbullying. In 2006, she appeared in a second TV-made film, Walkout; and finished filming Remember the Daze, which came out in limited theatres in April of 2007. The filming was completed Repo! The Genetic Opera was released in 2008. 10 years ago, Vega is confirmed as the lead character in Helix. The script was written and directed by Aram Rapaport, the filming started in Chicago on March 28, 2008 and ended with Vega being the principal character. She was originally cast in The 2009 Robert Rodriguez film Shorts, but due to being situated in Australia to film Broken Hill, she had to be replaced. Her replacement was Kat Dennings. Penny is a character who was on Broadway's Hairspray. She was Ruby Gallagher in the ABC Family sitcom Ruby & the Rockits which was a collaboration between Patrick Cassidy and David Cassidy. Vega is Wick In The Devil's Carnival (2012) the film of directors Darren Lynn Bousman, and Terrance Zdunich. The two previously worked together with Vega for Repo! The Genetic Opera. The Genetic Opera. Vega appeared in an independent thriller, 2br/1ba, written by Rob Margolies and co-stars with Spencer Grammer and Kathryn Morris. Vega was also a part of The Pregnancy Project on Lifetime Channel as well as completed her animated movie The Clockwork Girl. The Mine was filmed by Vega in 2010. It was screened for only a short screening. Vega performed the role of Christina on the animated show Unsupervised as well as having an appearance on Royal Pains.
